Dr. Liese | Sältz

Dr. med. Lutz Liese and Martje Sältz are doctors specializing in naturopathy and cold immersion therapy at Immanuel Hospital Berlin. They have extensive expertise and scientific insights in therapeutic cold treatments as well as the ability to provide guidance on the health benefits, treatment possibilites, do’s and don’t’s in cold immersion therapy during module 1.

Dr. med Lutz Liese

Dr. med. Lutz Liese is a general practitioner specialized in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and Taiji. Lutz has been working in the outpatient clinic for naturopathy at Immanuel Hospital Berlin since 2014. Cold as a therapeutic intervention is used in the Immanuel Hospital in the form of the cold chamber, for example for patients with inflammatory joint diseases. Another milder and also frequently used form of cold treatment is Kneipp watering.

Martje Sältz

Martje Sältz is a resident physician in general and sports medicine. She has been working in the department of naturopathy at Immanuel hospital Berlin since 2023 and uses cryotherapy in the treatment of various diseases. Using cold as a form of therapy fascinates Martje because of its simplicity and long history, further fields of her interest include preventive medicine and nutrition.

In the module “Medical”, Lutz and Martje deliver our participants valuable insights into the science behind cold exposure, including relevant findings from current research as well as answers to frequently asked medical questions about cold plunging and its advantages.
